Gail Becker, a seasoned Cabaret artist, loves to jump back on the theatre stage whenever she gets the chance. Her roles in Sunday in the Park with George: Frieda, Mrs. and Harriet, helped receive a Joseph Jefferson Citation for Best Musical Production.

In only 3 years she has been seen on each of the 5 stages in Madison's prestigious Overture Center, and has worked with over 7 different theatre companies. While in Chicago, she performed at many venues such as Drury Lane, Park West, Skokie Theatre, and Theatre at the Center.  Some credits include the Witch in Into the Woods, Gussie in Merrily We Roll Along, Edith in Pirates of Penzance, and Virginia in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes….  With the Apollo Chorus of Chicago Gail performed at Ravinia in Puccini's Madama Butterfly, and other venues including Orchestra Hall, Harris Theatre, and the 4th Presbyterian Church.  

Her Chicago based trio group, 3Girls3, filled houses in Chicago at the famous Drury Lane Theatre on Michigan Ave., Navy Pier, Park West, Davenport's Cabaret Room and Skokie Theatre. In November of 2012 they performed at Madison's Overture Center.  Other cities performed in are San Francisco, Boston, St. Louis, and New York. 


Gail is the Assistant Artistic Director and Director of Education for Capital City Theatre, Madison's first professional musical theatre.  She also has Directed / Musical Directed / Conducted / Vocal Consulted for shows with Four Seasons Theatre, Oregon Straw Hat Players, Madison Country Day School, Stoughton Village Players, MadCAP, and CTM. She teaches numerous musical theatre worksops and adjudicates for The Overture Center's Tommy Awards and WSMA. Currently, she is the director for the Tommy Performance Ensemble at Overture Center.

Gail is a native to Chicago, having grown up in Batavia, Illinois, but has switched gears in her life to include the pastoral settings of central Wisconsin.  She received a BFA in Theatre Performance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Gail freelances as a Musical Director / Conductor / Musical Theatre Instructor throughout Madison.  She also maintains her own private voice studio focusing on musical theatre and cabaret vocal techniques. Ms. Becker also expands her career by including jingle and voice-over work, she hopes to someday narrate books.
