Gail has been no stranger to the cabaret world, having been at it for over twenty years. Her highly anticipated debut album Small Day Tomorrow was produced in Chicago and released May of 2006. A collection of jazz and cabaret songs, Gail spans decades of genres from the early 1940's standards to the intricate 3 part harmonies of Stephen Sondheim. She even includes a few gems from her critically acclaimed show "Can't Stop Talking" the music of Betty Hutton. Lighting up Davenport's Cabaret Room in Chicago, Jeff Rossen of Cabaret Scenes named it one of the Top Ten Cabaret Shows of 2002."Becker creates nothing less than pure magic." (****)

"Though she can play it cool in such an environment, a bent for drama and sensitivity may be more her natural instinct. The album is varied not only in musical style, but attitude as well. It's more about communication and making an emotional point. ... the title song (Bob Dorough/ Fran Landesman) and the opener, "The Friendliest Thing." ... They also present Gail in fine form, sounding confident and in charge." Rob Lester Talkin' Broadway

In July of 2003, Gail was part of a five person cabaret show called "Explicit Lyrics", which performed to sold out audiences. "Gail Becker, (who) brought down the house, has a voice with a crystalline Broadway edge," Jennifer Vanasco, Chicago Reader.
